Haleakala, known as the “House of the Rising Sun” in Hawaiian, is an active, but non-erupting volcano that rises majestically in middle of the Haleakala National Park.
Home to many indigenous flora and fauna only found in Hawaii, hiking and bike rides have become some of the most popular ways to explore the area.
The volcano has also become famous for being the perfect scenic point to watch the sun rise from the east and illuminate the sky in a breathtaking display of color.
